After being released from Van Halen, Sammy took it upon himself to continue on with his musical career. He turned to longtime friend, David Lauser. Sammy and David use to have a band together back in their high school days. Sammy met Mona through Dave. Mona was working with a variety of artists, including Gene Parsons (Byrds, Flying Burrito Brothers) and Cult favorite Wayne Perkins. David Lauser told her that Sammy Hagar had been looking for a bassist. Within minutes of her audition, Mona landed the job with Sammy's new band. Victor Johnson had been a guitarist in an 80's band called Busboys. For eight years, he played guitar for this band. The band appeared on the film "48 Hours", performed on "Saturday Night Live," and recorded several albums for Arista Records. After the band broke up, Vic heard that Sammy Hagar was looking for a guitarist. After finding they had many interests in common, Sammy added Victor Johnson to his roster. Jesse Harms has been a longtime friend of Sam since the early '80s. In the early 80's, Jesse worked with and toured with such artists such as Ray Cooder, John Hiatt, and the Hughes-Thrall band. In the early '80's, Jesse helped produce albums with Sammy which helped kick off a solo career for Sam. After Sammy landed a career with Van Halen, Jesse went off and helped produce an album for R.E.O Speedwagon, and helped Eddie Money make it to the 10 ten with his song "Walk on Water." After being released from Van Halen, Jesse returned to Sam's side and helped co-produce Marching To Mars. Just recently, After his next successful album, TEN 13, Sammy joined forces this past summer with David Lee Roth. His latest studio album is currently "Not 4 Sale."
